Market given new canopies

A grant from Cumbria Communities Fund will give our Farmers' Market a new lease of life.

The oldest of the pop-up canopies at our popular Farmers’ Market will be replaced in the next few months, thanks to a grant from the Cumbria Communities Fund. At our usual rate of three a year this would have taken more than seven years. Now it will happen much faster.

If you’ve not been to our Farmers’ Market yet, come along! It supports the residents of Brampton and beyond and is popular with locals and visitors alike. We welcome a wide variety of traders, from fresh fruit and veg to cheese, cake and pies, as well as plenty of local information. It’s on the last Saturday of the month from 9am.

This grant will help to sustain Brampton Farmers’ Market, so it can keep serving our community for many years to come.

We plan to buy up to two new Vitabri canopies each year until all our stock has been renewed. Older canopies will be refurbished where possible and stored at Brampton Community Centre, where they’ll be available for community events and festivals nearby, including school eco events, the Forgotten Lands Festival and the revived Lanercost Festival.

Our thanks to CCF for this grant. Sustainable Brampton welcomes other local organisations who’d like a presence at the market, usually at no cost. Just get in touch.
