Volunteers wanted
Brampton & Fellside Repair Café
Bring us your broken chairs, bikes, lamps and clothes. Volunteers fix them for free, with cake.
On the last Saturday of each month, our Brampton and Fellside Repair Café works to save the community money and keep things out of landfill. A team of volunteers runs the venue, repairs items and, of course, provides cake.
We’ll take a look at almost anything: chairs, bikes, garden tools, lamps, clothes and jewellery. It’s all free of charge. It’s a small step towards tackling our throwaway culture, and a chance to learn skills that are otherwise being lost.
Where and when
Currently hosted at Brampton Community Centre, with plans to rove around local villages.
Can you fix things?
We’re always looking for menders, whether that’s sewing, electrics, woodwork or bikes. You don’t need to be a professional, just handy and happy to show others how.
The Repair Café is made possible by Brampton Community Centre, Brampton Acting Together, Sustainable Brampton, North Pennines AONB and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
