Brampton and Beyond Energy

A community-owned co-operative exploring local renewable energy for the Brampton area.

Brampton and Beyond Energy (BABE) grew out of discussions within our Energy Action Group. It is an independent, community-led Industrial and Provident Society: a co-operative that can trade for community benefit.

BABE was awarded £20,000 by the Rural Community Energy Fund to study the potential for renewable energy generation in the Brampton area, from micro-hydropower and solar to wind, biomass, geothermal and anaerobic digestion.

Why local energy?

Generating renewable energy locally reduces our reliance on costly fossil fuels, lowers our collective carbon footprint, and helps make Brampton a more economically and environmentally sustainable place for future generations.
